Do you have any ideas for any exchanges this Christmas? If so put them down and between you and a group leader you can put something together
for example I have been asked if I will do a secret Santa again this year which I will happily set up in September. This will be a general one in that any of the crafts could join. Further details will be available on the exchange board next month.

Not being a stitcher 2 means little to me (though I understand the concept) but I'm sure they will prove popular.
In principal, I'm interested in a Card exchange but, having participated in one on CB1 where everyone on the list sent to everyone else and, that year, I sent out over 100 exchange cards (plus my personal ones) - so I CAN'T contemplate that number again!!! a more manageable number? No problem.

No problem. Maybe splitting exchanges into more manageable numbers would work because at the end of the day there is so many hours! By the way number 2 is just a card and either a full skein of dmc or anchor thread. As you said though some exchanges will be very much geared to specific crafts.

I think you are right about splitting in to groups with maybe a maximum number of, say, 10 - something like that, it's a more manageable number .... if people want to then they could perhaps ask to join more than one group - just a thought

Well it's certainly a way to control how many you have to make ....... the group I joined (which got so huge) it was optional who to send to but, once they land on your mat you kind of feel honour bound to send one back don't you? I would certainly be happy with a group of ten - I could probably even send them out today! Given the postage it might be a good idea to have an Australian group, an American group and some U.K. groups - that would keep costs down too - whaddya think? That's it now, I'm all out of ideas!

'you can always run it that you send to the person below you in the list and receive from the person above.
That way you only make one/send one item out and everyone receive one and you don't send to the same person you receive from.
(A) knitted or crochet or bead Christmas ornament
(B)Non Stitchie Christmas gift were you send things that can be used for papercraft or jewelry. ie embeliments, coloured paper, ribbon, tiny buttons, sticks of glue/pads etc etc.

It's definitely a different way to do things although personally I like to receive more than just one but I do appreciate that can appeal to people who are on a tight budget.
Perhaps there maybe scope to run the same exchange but with variations .... Something to ponder.

How about a stocking exchange? Everyone has to make a little Christmas stocking can be stitched, sewed, knitted, or papercrafted etc and then you put a little gift inside i.e a skein of floss or some stickers etc etc.
Maybe a Christmas placemat exchange also can be stitched, sewn, knitted, papercrafted etc.

Good ideas keep them coming.
I like the idea of buying a cheap stocking and then adding something mainly because you can encompass more than one craft.
