Uses all 477 colours - off to have a look at this! Easy to kit up though, just get out your entire stash of DMC!

I've finished my HAED freebie Christmas Animals (retired chart). I had all the threads, fabric and the Frsmecraft tray which I found in a charity shop a few years ago and paid £3.00 for. Stitched 1 over 1 on 28ct brittney lurex (never again ??!)

Ooooo, loving that tray sweetie and such gorgeous piece of stitching! 1 over 1 on 28ct Brittany - wow that must have been a bit tedious! Still it's fit in that tray perfectly - what a great find!

Looks great Sheila! I've never used Brittney lurex, so I've no idea what that is like. I've stitched a couple of pieces on opalescent lugana though, and I found it quite easy/reasonable to work with, and would happily work on it again (have two pieces kitted up with patterns in my stash as a matter of fact).

Thank you Lady A. I think they are the same, I saw on one website " Lugana (used to be called brittney)". I've stitched a few things on it stitching over 2, but this was the first time over 1 and the shiny threads started dancing in the light after a while.

Well, I just may find out! I am about to start a BAP over 1 on 28 ct opalescent lugana......... And why I am starting a second BAP when I'm only 3-4 weeks into working on my first one, I've no idea. I've clearly lost my mind..........

You must have the bug LadyA, lol.
I've used Lugana in the past and it's more stretchy than than your average evenweave so it might work well for you. Although I found it difficult to keep an even tension, but this might actually work to your advantage for a large project.
Good luck!

Plain Lugana is lovely to stitch on, it's the opalescent/lurex thread in it that could be tricky.....

I've done two pieces on the opalescent lugana already, and I didn't find it any worse that regular lugana really. The only thing I noticed was that it did tend to shred the end of the floss a little more than normal. I'm also not to worried about tension, as I intend to stitch in hand. I do have scroll bars for if I am going fancy stuff, and will be using scroll bars and a floor stand when I do start A Stitch in Time, but generally I prefer to stitch in hand if possible. At the moment, I am still working Lazy Day in hand, although it is becoming a bit awkward and I may have to switch it to scroll bars.

Here is a little stitch I have done for my Mum for Mothers Day - used a notebook that was free with a magazine along with threads and aida from my stash - very slight stash reduction although had the notebook for around 10 years so about time I got around to using it!!
