This is Garrett he's rather large but his mother was a staffie and his father (a rescue) was part staffie part rottie. He's loves to play, steal and munch on carrots. He used to be terrified of other dogs no matter their size. After much work with him he's happy now to meet and play with other dogs but will still run away if he feels scared/threatened by other dogs. He's very strong and has twice pulled me into the road in order to escape another dog. Once when a Old English Sheep dog that went to grab his face. Then bite my DH in the knee. Then once into a busy main road when 2 greyhounds growled at him.
He loves a cuddle, does lots of different tricks and has different sounds to tell you different things. ie at night time he'll huff out air his silent bark while siting beside my side of the bed means I need to go outside, yet in the day it's a high pitched yap and while laying down at the French doors.
A high pitched whine along with dropping a toy at your feet or in your lap means, 'come play with me.'
Running into the kitchen, siting in front of the cupboard where his treats are with 2 quick barks means, please can he have a treat. If he's drunk all his water he'll bring you his water bowl, then give you his paw.
If you don't get to bed before midnight he'll keep going to the bottom of the stairs stand on the first step and give a bark and start sighing until one of us goes to bed.
He's woken me in the middle of the night wimpering because he's had a bad dream and needs to be cuddled with his head on my shoulder so the side of his face is up against my cheek. He's such a wimp. lol
He's was 7 years old in January
This is Garrett pulling apart a toy my mother gave him when we went to visit
This is him looking very sad when we told him 'all gone' ie no doggie food we needed to go shopping.
This is when we bought him home he was so tiny
