I'm experimenting with water colour pencils. The set I have you dip the pencil into water to use them or you can use them without dipping, dipping makes the pencil colour a fuller deeper shade and also means you can blend it in more.
I'm also having a go with some watercolour paints. I have a block and a some watercolour paints in their little tubes.
I will post picture's once I've taken some.
Does anyone else use water colour paints or water colour pencils.
I have the full set of the stampin up! watercolour crayons and I quite like them. I do tend to use them only on watercolour paper though. I sometimes colour on the paper, and then take the water brush to them. And sometimes I take the brush to the crayon to collect up colour, and then apply the brush to paper. It depends on what effect I am looking for. I find that if you colour on the paper, it can sometimes be a little trickier to get a good "blend" and have no lines appear but I think you get a bit softer wash of colour. Putting the brush directly to the crayon, you get get a better blend, but you also can get quite an intense depth of colour and sometimes I just want the softer wash.
