I wanted to try and do my own design now I have tried several shop bought ones using different methods of construction.
Each doll I've tried thus far, has been different in it's assembly so I've tried to adapt a dolly from what I have learnt and make my own method of construction and here is the result.
I have had inspiration from numerous sources including You tube videos, but the body of the doll has been hand drawn by myself along with her hand painted features - she is unique to me, lol.
She's not perfect as she is my prototype, and still needs work, but for a beginner who would like to try their hand at making a rag doll - it really doesn't get any easier! I have two sizes - this one is about 10 inches, the other one, which I have still to construct is around 14inches.
All her facial features are hand drawn and painted, using a combination of acrylic paints and makeup (it isn't perfect, but the next one will be better) and her hair is just cheap acrylic wool which I have not yet styled, but I couldn't wait to show her off, LOL!
I'm really pleased how she's turned out.
I hope you like her too! Forgive her nakedness - I've yet to make her any clothes!
