metal knitting needles.
For a while now I've not used my straight metal knitting needles as they get caught in the arms of my chair.
I've been using my circular bamboo ones. Yes I like using them as I can do large knitted pieces without having to use my extra long metal straights, therefore making it easier to knit sitting in my favourite chair.
However I bought myself a set of metal fixed circular knitting needles and boy do I prefer them. I love the feel of them, love the way I can knit faster as the stitches slip so easily. That I can still produce larger items on them while sitting in my favourite chair.
I've always loved my metal crochet hooks to plastic, resin or bamboo as well So maybe I'm just a 'heavy' metal type of girl.
What do you like your needles to be made from ?

I prefer metal hooks and needles also. Especially for fine crochet work, I don't see how plastic etc could work well. I agreed that the yarn/thread just slides so much more easily with metal hooks/needles. The one time I did find bamboo needles to be of use was when I was first learning to use double-pointeds. Then, the fact that the yarn doesn't slide easily was a help.
