Well my dog now he's getting older is starting to feel the cold more and has taken to removing throws off the sofa, chair, beds etc to build himself a nest that with him half under the my nice throws.
So I thought I'll knit him his own but thought I don't want to use my best yarn. I thought I'll go to the charity shops and look for a large man's jumper to unravel and re knit into a blanket for him.
I got a bit carried away and came home with 5 jumpers and one lovely green cardigan which I've kept for myself which is cotton and alapaca wool we shall see if I can wear it without coming out in stinging itching and red spots. If not then it will be given to another charity.
All the yarns are mixed fibre yarns and all extremely soft
I've unravelled 4 of the jumpers so far.
Here is my recycled charity shop jumpers yarn stash

I did a crochet blanket that moo had on the top of the sofa as he liked sitting there and it got chilly but he loved snuggling up in that. Might make a bigger one for Albert's doggie map make it more cosy.

I did a crochet blanket that moo had on the top of the sofa as he liked sitting there and it got chilly but he loved snuggling up in that. Might make a bigger one for Albert's doggie map make it more cosy. I've not decided yet and I've added two more jumpers worth to the stash just not taken photo's yet.
I have finally after I don't know how many years finished all the knitting of my scrap yarn stripey blanket. I just have to tidy up the end as I forgot to weave them all in. So my scraps of yarns box is rather depleted now, there's not enough in it to finish my knitted mitre square scrap blanket.
I have a extra soft fluffy raspberry pink jumper now unravelled and a blue/green zip out cardie thinge all unravelled as well. Once cost me £2 and the other £2.99 bargins both of them.
Oh yes doggies need their cosy warm blankets I bet Albert will love it.
