I'm currently looking at doing a project which requires the thread to be corded then couched. Not a problem but I thought to save time I would use Pearle thread and couch this instead. The cording requires 3 strand of threads so I found the pearl equivalent in strands, so thought I'd share it here, if it's of any use to anyone. So DMC pearl thread can be found in #3, #5, #8, #12, - With #3 being very thick and #12 being the thinnest #3 is equivalent to 6 strands where #12 is equivalent to one strand. So the higher the number the thinner the thread. These amounts are not exact, but it should help give you a visual idea of how thick the thread will be in comparison to the project you need it for. a=#3 , b=#5 c=#8, d=#12

Thank you, Kelly.Of course, this informatin is useful. As for the numbers, it's the same as with needdles- the larger the number, the thinner the needle.
