Hope you have a relaxing weekend Kelly! I've just taken some tylenol (paracetemol across the pond I believe) for a headache I have brewing. No time for headaches - must get presents wrapped and continue working on ornaments!

Well we will be in Tier 4 from tomorrow. We only went into Tier 3 today. I can't say I am surprised. People just do not follow the rules. As for Christmas we had already decided that it would be just the 4 of us. My MIL will be in support bubble with my BIL so we probably wont see her until the New Year. Took her food shopping this morning and stocked up her freezer. She should be alright until next weekend when she will see my BIL.

There is much talk of stricter measures coming here too. I'm not in one of the worst areas, but we're not doing the best either. Will have to wait and see what the authorities say in the coming days. Was up until 1:30am this am, but all my gifts are wrapped, with the exception of 1 that is still coming in the post, and 1 I have still to buy (my uncle's favourite candies - have to go to a specific shop this coming week to get them). Currently working on ornaments. Hoping to get at least 2 finished today. I have yet to do any Christmas baking whatsoever - will have to find some time somewhere! The cookies I make every year might not get made until Boxing Day at the rate I am going! LOL

Greetings from tier 4 - I am with you Margaret! Could see it coming especially with all the messages coming from government about keep Christmas short and really think before you travel! Having seen on the news the chaos at St Pancras station yesterday evening as folk tried to get out of London before the travel restrictions came in, the new mutant virus will be all over the country by the end of next week! Kelly - hope that the new meds kick in quickly so that you are used to them by Christmas Day. it sounds as if you will have a more relaxing week this week which will be good for you. We find ourselves in a bit of a silly position. We have formed a childcare bubble so that my younger daughter and / or I can look Kahlan while my elder daughter is at work. This takes place at either of our homes. Sometimes my elder daughter is here working remotely for Test and Trace while I have little one downstairs and sometimes this happens at my elder daughter's home. However we cannot spend Christmas Day together as childcare bubbles cannot meet socially. It seems to be a little bit daft. I've not got a lot planned for today. I need to write and send my last three Christmas cards and then must finish the one for my grand daughter. After that I will get out one of my current stitchy projects and have a few hours to myself. Take care everyone!

Joan aren't they in your support bubble though? All fine here though I knew the christmas break would be disastrous especially the travelling everywhere.
So not surprised on the new rules, though Grey's been annoyed with royal mail s two people in his office went off with covid last Monday but nothing done about others left in office, plus original guy (whose wife caught in nursing home)back Tues only 8 days after she tested positive R.M not bothered.
Also his brother been staying in Wales since September and looks like he coming home for Christmas (he does live with his parents normally)but they both in 80s and they refusing jab /we have no bloody idea why ,you'd think as his dad has stints in heart they would but then say us go over too.
I've already declined myself as if brother back and them it could be a covid nightmare😣😣😣.
Any way hope everyone can stay safe and we'll sure to have someone here on bubbleland at Christmas 🎅🎅me😃

Well I've finally got the last of the Christmas cards sorted today. My brother was supposed to be swinging by to get his card, but we've decided to post them to each other instead. My sisters is ready to post tomorrow as she sent me a parcel yesterday so I've got her a little something. We don't usually exchange gifts, just a casual chat over FB as we've only just come back into each other lives, so it was a surprise.
The new meds the docs got me on are making me feel worse. They are supposed to help with chest pains associated with Angina, but one of the side effects are, yes you guessed it, is chest pain. It's so intense it makes me double over. I'm not a crying type of person but I was in tears with the pain this morning and Jay wanted to ring for an ambulance but I told him no. It's eased off as the day's gone by.
I was supposed to do some home exercises as well, but the doctor has failed to send them me. He sent me a text message saying I'm to do them but forgot the attachment, so I'll have to ask about that as well as I have no clue what he wants me to do. If it's touching my toes or jumping around he must be mad, I'm too dizzy to stand up right let alone jump around the house like a loon.
We're still in tier 3 here, although we've all be warned to limit social interaction closer to Christmas, even though there's been new cases of Covid in the Ashfield area. I would have thought higher restrictions would be made, as Ashfield (my area), has the most reported cases within Nottinghamshire.
Anyhooo, I have to nip to the post office tomorrow, pick up the xmas meats and a few other bits we need for the week. I don't need much just the odd thing I forgot in the Tesco shop. Jade's friend is swinging by in the car with her mum to pick up her Christmas gifts next week too, then after that I'm done.
The neighbour came round earlier and dropped a bag of goodies at the gate for me, some flowers and a tin of biscuits which are delicious. All coconut ones, I love coconut biscuits, lol. I used to buy a tin of those family circle biscuits specially for the coconut ones, then they stopped doing them I was very disappointed, lol.
Hoping to do some stitching tonight, just one more character to do for Alice and a bit more border and it'll be finished. Yay!
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

Whee! All 11 ornaments are done & wrapped! I did remember to take pics first, and will try to post them tomorrow. We had a light dusting of snow today - just an inch or so. Might still end up with a green Christmas though. They are predicting rain for the 24th.

Kelly I am so sorry to hear that you are poorly and hope that you are feeling better as I write. Take care of yourself. I am such a state of confusion with everything. I am in my Youngest son's bubble and I am going to him for my Christmas dinner. Guess that is O.K. I am in Tier 3.
Now promise me that you won't laugh. Well you will, I posted three parcels to Hampshire from Yorkshire on December 10th. Two arrived on December 12th. The third one ....nothing. I was tracking it every day and being told that they had my parcel and it would be delivered. This morning I was reading my paper and there was a piece about the book called The Secret ( I do have a copy). You visulise things and they happen, so off I went visulising the postman knocking on my neice's door with the parcel. Just got a message from my neice to say that it has arrived. Yes I know it is coincidence but there you are If anyone has Alexa ask her 'what is Robbie William's Christmas Message today'. They do give me a smile first thing in the morning. Take care everyone

Hope you feel better soon Kelly.
Not surprised by the new rules. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire country is in Tier 4 by January having seen some of the photos of the train stations and motorways. We're currently in Tier 2 and in a support bubble with my parents so unless things change before christmas we will be going to them on christmas day. I'm hoping we will still be able to go so Emilia can spend her first christmas with some of her family. I feel so bad that my grandparents won't be able to spend time with her at christmas especially with her being their first great grandchild but there isn't anything we can do about it.
Emilia had gained another 4 ounces when she was weighed at her appointment with the dietitian last week. Dietitian is happy with her and is letting her stay on the formula we have her on so she doesn't have to have the yucky high calorie stuff. She's not due to be weighed again until she sees the health visitor on new years eve, assuming they still go ahead now.
OH has had his bike stolen from the secure parking at our building. It was chained up as well so the theif must have come in with bolt cutters or something to get the chain off. Apparently his is the 4th bike to have been stolen but the first we knew about the thefts was when Jared went to report it to the concierge who said so yours was the fourth one then. They knew it had been stolen but hadn't informed the residents it was going on. They are able to put notices up about putting your rubbish in the right bins, etc so surely they could have put on up about bike thefts. There was a fifth bike stolen the day my OH reported his stolen. He's also reported it to the police but they have emailed him telling him unless he can provide them with CCTV footage of it being stolen that shows the theif's face his report will just be put on the shelf. We've been having people attempting to get into the building and the other night people were reporting that they could hear people running up and down the hallway banging on doors. It was gone 10pm at this point and my OH wasn't home from work. Its getting to the point I'm going to be terrified to answer the door unless OH is home.
Julie - I think you are making the right decision by saying no. The son of a friend of my grandparents has been hinting for an invite to go to theirs for christmas as he has now lost both of his parents. I do feel sorry for him but like my mum said what is the point in us staying away from them at christmas to try and keep them safe if he is going to go over there. He lives on the border of a Tier 4 area. My grandparents are in their 80s which is partly why they decided not to go to my parents for christmas so I can definately see my mum's point.
Maggiemac - From what I have understood of the rules if you are in tiers 1,2 or 3 you are allowed to form a christmas bubble with 2 other households (so 3 households including your own) for christmas day only. All of the households have to be under a tier 4. So as long as the other households are tier 1,2 or 3 its still allowed.

OMG, what a mess of rules you are in! Bubbles sounds good, I guess, as long as it is craftbubble! We are in tight lockdown at the moment. Shops are closed since last week.. only supermarkets etc. are open. We are allowed only nearest family over Christmas.... max of four households... only five people... or the other way around.... in between the days, we can meet up with one other couple - not family - ..... why on earth we are not allowed to see them on Christmas day... no clue. The rules are very strict, but not at all clear....so we stay away from our friends... when some other nasty neighbor would report... fines are huge. Will be a bit lonely... first christmas without mum.... but we'll stay positive and kill a huge bottle of red wine! I have heard about the ferries, airports and channeltunnel closed..... suppose already too late.It is not getting any better....hopefully the vaccine does what it promises. To all of you, in which Tier you are..... keep up a good spirit and hope for a better year to come! xxx Riekje
