Morning bubblers,
I hope everyone has had a good Christmas, well as good as it could be for you. Did Santa visit? Any new stash?
I have to nip into town tomorrow for a bit of shopping, we don't need much so I'm hoping to go early grab the few things we need and straight out again. Also need the post office, which is in Asda anyway.
As for today, no plans here, Just going to relax with some stitching.
Have a good day everyone.

We had a very quiet Christmas being in Tier 4. Ate too much and now need to walk it all off. Apart from my Secret Santa the only craft gift was a Crystal Art Wolf. Hopefully this will inspire me to finish my Wolf cushion. Still need to decide my goals for 2021.

Enjoy your new kit Margaret, it looks lovely. Well I think Julie's snow was kind enough to pay me a visit as well today, thanks for sharing chick but I was fine without it, lol . We've had enough to settle, but it's not deep. Haven't been in town, Jay's gone instead, he's been ages so I assume it's chaos in town again. I'm hoping he can get the new Cross Stitcher mag, it's due out today and I want the new SAL border for the Grimm fairytale SAL in print as the digital version is really bad to work from. Fingers crossed he can get hold of it. I haven't took Trixsey for her walk today either, although she's not a fan of the snow either. I think she's starting to get arthritis in her legs, she's going blind on her right eye as well, bless her. Since Jay's done the town run I was meant to do, I'll do a few chores around the house instead and then settle down to some sewing.

I'm sitting at home, waiting for the snow to start coming down. The snow will last from this afternoon(Tuesday) to Wednesday morning. We aren't talking about 2-3 inches. We are talking about the possibility of 12 inches when the snow moves off to the East. Driving will be interesting and not fun. Guess who is staying home for the duration?? I have enough food to last me for the duration. I have someone, to come and clear the snow from the driveway and sidewalk. I think, Winter has arrived in Iowa.
Ladies, have a great week and a fantastic New Year celebration.

Bright and clear and sunny here today - but cold. -16C or something. Since it was so sunny, was contemplating a walk, but have decided I don't really want to deal with the cold LOL! Should warm up tomorrow, since we are supposed to get some snow, although nothing like what Marsha is expecting - only a light snow of 3-5cm predicted for here. Got in quite a bit of stitching time yesterday, and hopefully more today. Although yesterday I ignored the housework altogether and today I really should accomplish something along those lines! Am contemplating what do I want to cook for dinner, so that I can take the appropriate protein out of the freezer to thaw. Am contemplating just making pancakes for dinner, as I somehow ended up with 2 cartons of milk open in the fridge and I need to use some of it up and pancake batter would do that. Bought a stitching journal today - a printable one from here: shazieinstitches.co.uk/I've tried just writing stuff down in a blank notebook in the past, but found it hard to keep track of all the stuff for one project by doing it that way. Hoping these printable pages will make it easier. I do like knowing how long it took me to stitch a project.

It's very bright, clear skies and cold here the bird bath is frozen ice. I now have 2 Robins in the garden that come regularly for food one has been in the conservatory again. good job it didn't get into the rest of the house.
I've no crafting presents this year but then I have so much stash to use up. I did get a nice amazon voucher which I'll spend on books for my kindle.
Hope everyone is well and bright.

Grey and overcast here, although the snow hasn't started yet. I managed quite a bit of stitching time yesterday, and hope for more today. Never did get around to making pancake batter or cooking anything for tea. Ended up making a pb&j sandwich with some carrot sticks & clementines.

We're in lockdown until the end of Jan here Julie. Seconday schools closed here too, although they are just switching everyone to online lessons. Some students have been working online since the beginning of the school year, so they will just switch them all to working online. I'm sure there are a number of students for whom it is not ideal, but as the educators are not the ones making the rules, I am sure that they are having to make the best of the regulations they're given. My employer has been deemed essential, so I'll continue going to work once my vacation is over. But really, the covidiots are not helping matters! In the news today that a man elsewhere in the country was arrested and jailed this past week. He has been visited by police and issued warnings, citations and fines (including two $2,300 fines earlier in December alone) multiple times for hosting parties. Since even after fines it looks like he is just going to keep doing it and the neighbours keep calling police, when the police had to go there for the third time in a month they just arrested him & tossed him in jail (per the special Covid measures laws). No other word for that except sheer idiocy, and clearly the man has more money than sense. Thought of your Grey today - happened to be looking out the window and saw the postman a couple of doors down and saw him take a tumble. I watched to make sure he got up and seemed to be ok, otherwise I'd have grabbed some outdoor gear & my phone and gone to check on him. While I feel bad for him, at the same time, it was kinda his own fault. When we've had rain & warm temps, and then it has become colder and snow falling, there is a better than average chance of there being ice under the snow, so anyone walking about should be proceeding with caution -particularly in areas that tend to be low-lying and prone to puddles, since they are more likely to end up with ice - like the ends of driveways. Postman was running down the street and made a quick turn to the right to run up a driveway and down he went. Running in such conditions is just foolhardy. That said, I surely hope postman is ok and ends up suffering from nothing more serious than a bruise or two or a sore muscle. Must be the day for buying stuff, as I've got an order going at my online needlework shop (buying that Madame La Fee chart Herbes et Epices to stitch for my sister), and a cart going at the local big box craft store (yarn is buy 2 get 1 free, so buying yarn for making a baby afghan for coming niece or nephew). I'd like to order more yarn for more afghans, but they haven't enough in stock of the colour I want for Niece#8, and for some reason the colours I want for one for my father can be bought in the shop (which is currently not open for in-person shopping due to the lockdown) but not ordered online. So weird and so annoying!

Not sure how schooling is working is other towns/cities, but here in Notts all lessons in secondary schools were done online and through video chats. At least that's what the neighbours daughter was doing in the last lockdown. I assume its the same again?
Where in tier 4 as from tomorrow. I figured they wanted to do that before the New Year celebrations begin. We have more pubs and restaurants here than clothing or food shops, so I'm actually glad of the lockdown, lol. We always get the drunken sods round here every year without fail. Although it did get a bit quieter when the local was burnt down and new housing was made in it's place.
Feel sorry for the postie Ladya, glad he wasn't hurt, although running isn't the best thing to do. Don't know how bad it is your end, but that snow we've had here has turned into a blanket of ice.
I still have to get the fabric for the Winter snowfall Julie, but I want to get the seasonal houses started this year, so I might hold off on that one for a bit. I have already got some papercrafting projects in a folder ready on the PC, and some cross stitch ones kitted up, so I'm ready to go! I also have some crafty projects to go in the Bubble Crafts section too.
12 days has come on a bit this week as well, I'll post a piccie nearer the weekend as I want to get this last panel done first then I'll need to roll the fabric up anyway.

Welcome to Tier 4 Julie and Kelly. To be honest they might as well go for a full lockdown and have done with it. I had words with a supposedly good friend yesterday evening as he has been obeying the rules that he wants and ignoring the others. After a text message from him that made me see red last Saturday I gave him both barrels, so to speak, on the phone last night. I still don't know what part of "no household mixing indoors" he doesn't understand! It's just as well that he doesn't live closer or I would be shouting at him from an upstairs window.
My sister is a classroom assistant in a secondary school and is relieved that they will not be opening for another 2 weeks. The mass testing of students is all very well but they need the staff to be able to carry it out plus the facilities to isolate anyone who tests positive until they can be taken home. Remote support from the armed forces does not help with the actual carrying out the tests. Hopefully the extra 2 weeks will give time for this all to be sorted out.
I have just downloaded and printed off a recipe for chocolate brownies using the new Aquafaber from Oggs - the recipe looks yummy so fingers crossed we have some nice cake to see in the New Year!
Off to get the washing sorted and then I will relax until my shift this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.

Welcome to Tier 4. I agree with tmk about going for a full lockdown. Only one household (that I know of) around here broke the rules over the Christmas period. They stayed overnight somewhere on Christmas Eve, one family member visited on Boxing Day and one set of parents visited the following day. This couple haven't been obeying the rules since we came out of lockdown at the end of November.
Went to Asda early yesterday morning and it was nice and quiet. We wont be going again until the end of next week. We confused the bloke on the checkout as we don't usually shop on Wednesdays. He said that people are still shopping in large groups, ie parents, children and grandparents. Also, the police have been to Asda and asked people to leave who were not wearing masks. I assumed they allowed for people who are exempt.
Today I am going to do some washing and some stitching, when I eventually get off this computer.
Hope you all have a good day and a safe New Years Eve celebration. Me, I will be in bed before midnight.

Afternoon everyone,
We have neighbours like that Joan, I know they'll have people over tonight, or they will go to their friends. They haven't obeyed any rules from the beginning.
Margaret I'm exempt from wearing a face mask, but I still wear one inside the shop itself. I don't wear one while walking into town, but I do try to keep it on throughout the shop. I hate it and I get very claustrophobic and sometimes I need to find a quite place to just slip it down for a moment to breathe, but I'm well away from people when I do. It's either that or literally passing out, lol.
I haven't been in town since last Monday, OH has to go today to pick up his prescription though, but I'll stay here.
Joan, I had to google Aquafaber, I'd never heard of it before, lol.
I'll let in the New Year with a weak snowball (advocaat and lemonade). I don't drink at any other time, but a glass of Warninks at midnight is something I grew up with.
