Good Morning
All my plans has just gone out the window, I was going to stitch but as taking tinsel down off the frame, the frame came down and bashed me on the knickles so I have two swollen, just waiting for someone to ring back from 111. Although I am determined to try and stitch....lol. I have 3 days off work I want to make the most of it Lucky enough K8 is home so we also having bolognese tonight. We are in Tier 4 in London

Afternoon all,
Lol, looks like bolognese is the popular choice today! I can't follow suit as I have some diced chicken in the fridge that needs to be cooked today.
Sorry to hear you've hurt yourself Angela, I hope it's doesn't effect your stitching and hope you enjoy your short time off.
As for the week ahead, I need to get some shopping in as I'm running low on a few things, so plan on going to Asda on Wednesday, as it's usually not so busy in there mid-week. Nothing else much planned, other than cleaning the vivarium's. I did the turtles yesterday, the axolotls will be done today then Jack and Lily's viv's. I forgot again to post a picture of Daisy, so sorry I just don't think. She's having her long snooze now until March and I left a note on top off her box to post pictures when she wakes up! Sorry Julie!
I have had to ring a place called Lowell this morning, it's a debt recovery place and apparently they have bought an outstanding bill that I owe from British Gas!?!
Okay...I'm not even with British Gas! I was when we first moved into the property about 15/20 years ago, but I've also only ever had a pre-payment meter, and when I did switch companies, I know for a fact that I had no outstanding debt. And how can I, when I'm on a pay as you go type meter! I have explained all this to Lowell, and they have wiped the debt from their system. Heaven knows what that was all about. I haven't had a letter from British Gas in years. All very odd, but sorted now.
Today I plan on stitching as I didn't get to do any yesterday. The new meds I'm on are effecting the kidneys, I was told they would and my sides were killing me yesterday. The pain isn't too bad today, thank heavens.
Hope you all have a great start to the new year and a good week ahead.

According to Murphy's law, today it was work, work and more work. But in between I did manage to finish the Hunting for Ducks. Will post a picture when I get somebody to take one. I cant believe it is done with and may be forgotten the moment I wash, iron and send it away. It is worth celebration as it was not an easy job, especially with one strand half crosses in violetish blue, which I actually saw as shade.

As we are in lockdown I have no exciting plans for the week. I do plan to take down Christmas and put my decorations etc away!
I have started the new free SAL in Peppermint Purple and have been working on the borders. Yesterday I discovered a HUGE mistake and the frog visited me for a couple of hours. So I now have to make that right!
I started knitting a multidirectional diagonal scarf the other day and decided the wool wasn't right for that project, so have also undone that. So I suppose I will spend my stitching time correcting all the mistakes I have made!
Not too much fun but necessary. I hope everyone has a great week!!!

So here we go again with national lockdown - not surprised but find it hard to deal with the fact that we could be talking late February before we get any relief from this! Let's hope that these vaccines do what they are supposed to do. I "celebrated" the news by throwing a tub of seed beads across the lounge floor - they rolled absolutely everywhere. We used the "tights over the vacuum nozzle" technique to pick them up but I bet we will be finding them for weeks. We did feel a bit guilty about the noise of the cleaner at 10pm but our neighbour has been drilling yet again at all hours this past week so that feeling soon passed! Today we are back to childcare bubbling - waiting to see the lockdown guidance to see if this is still allowed but the new rules don't actually become law until midnight tonight so we know it will be fine today. Nurseries are still allowed to open so we think we can carry on. Off to construct an engagement card - seed beads were for this card - so that I can get it in the post. Take care everyone!

What a surprise - lockdown again. Should have happened sooner. My plans for the week wont change as I have been staying at home and only going out for essentials since March last year except for volunteering at the charity shop but that has been closed most of the time. OH and DD have been working from home since March so nothing changes for them either.
My MIL is due to have her second dose of the vaccine later today so OH will be taking her.
Starting this week the gas pipes in my street are being replaced so I am expecting it to be quite noisy.
My plan for today is stitching, housework and going out for a walk, weather permitting.

Like you Mmaryg I've only been shopping and home but got to say I'm getting frustrated when I go shopping seeing people either not wearing masks or wearing but under their noses not over them ,though here it's the young generations (God that makes me old I'm only 44)that's the problem. Grey said he came home yesterday and they were hanging around McDonald's doors.
Have the vets tomorrow but it's been put back 3 months so Albert has to get his booster tomorrow and just the food shop.
Joan can sympathize with you as you lost beads ,I was stitching beads when blanket off sofa fell on me so I tossed it on back of sofa only to then notice beading needle missing😣😣😣still haven't found it yet ( this morning mission).

You are too right about the lockdown should have happened earlier. I'm hoping the vaccine will prove to be a winner. I just wish some people would understand the need to social distance and how to do it properly then maybe we wouldn't be in this big a mess. Sorry for the rant.
Well this morning I'm dying my hair I'm also wondering if I should give it a trim. As my long hair is even longer now and I'm forever brushing my fringe out of my eyes lol
I hope to crochet a Christmas decoration today if I can find my sparkle red yarn.

Julie, do you have a magnet? Maybe brush the magnet all over the blanket and whatever you were sitting on and it might attach itself to the magnet.

Good luck finding the needle Julie, especially those thin beading ones. It'll be in the last place you look, always is, lol.
I've been stitching the Grimm SAL this afternoon after I finished the morning chores of cleaning vivarium's and taking another look round the bedroom for Flame. Still no sign of him, but I've re-filled the water pots and slid them under the units and the bed itself. I don't even know if he's still in the bedroom, he doesn't spin webs as he's a borrowing spider and he's not an arboreal species, so he'll have to be on the floor somewhere...
It's shopping day tomorrow, wish me luck, lol. Dreading Asda, but it needs to be done. After that I'm thinking of doing another dollhouse project. I have a Christmas themed one which will be ideal for the Christmas Craft Along, so might dig out the old crafting tools out.

I ended up having to work late yesterday. Was hoping not, but kinda of expected I might have to, since it was my first day back and I knew I'd be dealing with urgent, urgent & urgent. Still, managed to make it home just in time to tune in live to the big game I wanted to watch. Stitched last night and going to get some more stitching in tonight also. So far, I've managed to stitch at least a little every day this year. Not that that will last long LOL, but might as well brag about it while I can. Today is a day where I really want to say "this virus sucks". My cousin had brain surgery on Monday to remove a tumour. It was a long but largely successful but so far, her recovery has been the easiest path. They haven't been able to quite get her pain or nausea under control, but not even her husband or my aunt can go in and be with her and help her. No visitors permitted because of the virus. They are having to rely on the medical staff calling her husband with news. I have to give such credit to the medical staff, because they are already working so hard, and that this situation means they have to take the time to call and give updates - you know that they don't have time, and yet they make the time because they know families are so anxious. And *sigh* so bad of me, but I placed another stitchy order! When I ordered the Madame La Fee charts the other day, two of the ones I wanted most were out of stock. I got a notification today that they got in a very limited stock of those patterns, so have ordered them and the fabric. Must.stop.buying. That makes 2 pattern/fabric orders, plus an order for silk threads just in the last week.

Julie I hope you find that needle. My DD (she is 29) talks about how the young generations appear to be irresponsible. What I want to know is the split between age groups of all these new daily positive cases. It may be out there somewhere but I haven't looked yet.
Kelly I hope you find Flame and good luck with your shopping.
LadyA I hope your cousin gets better soon. It must be so lonely in hospital when family can't visit. The medical staff are so overrun but it is nice of them to make time to update families.
My MIL had her second dose of the vaccine yesterday. My OH took her and was back home earlier than I expected. He said that there were not as many people in the waiting room as there were on the first visit so they were seen earlier than expected. Also, my MIL has had a rash on her body for about a week. She has got shingles. By going for her vaccine she didn't have to wait to see her doctor.
Today will be housework and stitching. I am trying to finish the 2020 PP Sal this month. Only another 20 weeks to go. The 2021 starts today.
