Thought I'd start off our weekly thread rant since I'm still up and it's very much morning, almost 3am here. Insomnia is back - again, urgh.
I'll be glad to get back in to see the GP, I'll be ringing in a few hours and make Jade an appointment too. I'm also at the opticians Friday and hopefully some new glasses.
I haven't been well today, well yesterday now, lol, so didn't get much stitching in but managed to finish another box on the 12 days, so the 6 geese a-laying is now done! I'll move over to the other side to the swans a-swimming and leave the centre partridge until last I think.
Hope you all had a good weekend - well except Joan, I'm sure your Sunday could have started better!
Have a great week everyone!

Well today I've had a housework blitz and over the weekend sorted pp sal and sorted fabric on frame for Grimm Sal too. Though alice not done😣😣😣will do some this afternoon but hoping to do a week on each project from now on.
Grey also looking in to getting me a better light as one I have he calls the interrogation as it projects to far over the room on him of a night so not doing my night stitching while watch/listening awful tv.
Any one started anything new for the new yr. Myself it was p.o. sal as never done much Blackwell before.

No joy finding Flame yet, I’ll end up having to move the units out although Jay said he thinks he saw him scurrying under the wardrobe. I’m still keeping the small pots of water down, I’ll give the room a good sort as soon as I’m able to move stuff around. He’s not ready for food yet so I have time.
I’ve got mine and Jade’s appointments sorted this morning. Jade is there first thing in morning for blood test and I have to see GP and a blood test myself on Thursday morning.
I didn’t get a wink of sleep today and looks like tonight is going to be the same, 2am as I type this so looks like another long night. On the bright side I have been catching up on some reading!
As the for stitching, I haven’t done any today as I was worried I’d make mistakes, tiredness and stitching don’t mix well as some of you know yourselves all too well, and I didn’t fancy a visit from Mr Frog, lol. No new starts here, although I am looking to seeing the new SALs so trying to keep a roller frame empty!
Any plans for the week ahead? I hope you all have a good one.

Yesterday will probably be the most exciting day of the week for me. I had my routine breast screening in the mobile unit in Sainsburys car park. We then went into Sainsburys and bought some saucepans. One of our saucepans must be nearly 40 years old.
The rest of the day wasn't great as I hurt my knee somehow. No idea what I had done to it so I spent the rest of the day with my leg up. It feels better today but I am being careful. Will try and do some stitching later.

That sounds just as exciting as me looking for a new light and iron it's soooo thrilling. Hope you leg is ok now and you get plenty of stitching in.
Well here has been normal though they brought second series of discovery of witches out and I'm itching to watch though over the last three nights we've been watching the serpent so not much stitching (though grey wouldn't watch witches).
I did do some more alice yesterday so getting there with that too now just felines and 12 days .Though the order for my light got cancelled as out of stock so need to find another🙄.

Things are still crazy here but then that seems to be the way my life pans out. My daughter's kitty is on the mend but it will be a long job - 4 weeks of cage rest to start and then see how things are. Kitty is protesting so much - she has an enormous meeow for a tiny kitty. I was at my daughter's house first thing so that she could take the cat to the vet and then I stayed there until just now as she had patients and was then going for an asymptomatic Covid test - she is patient facing but in private medicine so doesn't get routinely tested. My younger daughter has just gone out as she is giving someone a PT session on the cliff top - rather her than me as it is pretty cold out there and the wind is getting up.
Hope everyone else is having a good day !

My knee is much better now. I can actually walk normally again. I plan to go out for a walk with OH this morning if it not raining too heavily. Other than that I plan to stitch and catch up with TV. I have been watching the Serpent. He gives me the creeps. I have read up on him so I know how it should end.

Mmaryg _I know what you mean about the serpent he's done a good job acting him .We been watching of a night so on ep 6 tonight ,like you I've read up on this but not Grey though I'm not sure I have much sympathy for her .As I read she was a victim too but I just think she probably was at the beginning but once the murders started she can't be as she knew and even helped set them up.Thought all his followers were weirdo' s though would they have been without being devoted too him? Can't wait for his being caught though I still think they all believed did nothing wrong.
Glad the knee better too hope you get your walk though here it's been raining all morning.
This afternoon is stitching👍👍

I am slowly working away on scrubbies from which I am going to take a break from since I have plenty for the craft show in March. I am going to work on sons afghan throw that he wants and then I will do a afghan throw for his spouse. Then I have a afghan to make a afghan for my youngest grandson for his bed. I am hoping that I can have these 3 afghans done in 6 months. I did 3 last year in 6 months so I am thinking I can do it again. Then I am going to work on oldest daughters cross stitch and see how much I can get done on that. I am hoping to get that done this year too. I have been working down my stash of yarn so that is helping out a lot. I have not added to much yarn except for 2 of the afghans that I am making.
I am glad the vaccines are slowly coming out for the virus and should be able to get mine hopefully in March or April.
Stay safe and crafty all.

Nasty weather here - can't make up it's mind whether it wants to rain, snow or freezing rain. Was mild today but the temp will drop overnight and I suspect there will be a nice mess of ice to navigate when I head to work in the am. Unfortunately, numbers are going up here again, and government announced new restrictions yesterday which take effect at midnight tonight. Much and at my work as they try to figure out what exactly we have to do to be in compliance with the rules. Some of the rules and restrictions are rather obvious (like the one we've had for a while about masks being required in public spaces), but others are not as clear-cut. It does sound like the authorities are going to be sending round inspectors and that these inspectors and police will be issuing fines to people and businesses not in compliance. Have not done myself any type of injury that I can recall, but am sitting here with my right foot elevated, as my ankle appears to be somewhat swollen. No clue why!

Well thankfully the weekend nearly here. How's everyone doing managing to keep safe and warm.
We went to a new local Aldi this morning for some odd bits of shopping but won't be going again . Firstly till staff all without masks shouting and screaming away about going on different tills but not one was wearing mask then security guard stood by door with his under his nose instead of over it. We both got to the car and said nearly at the same time Never again.
It's been wet and chilly here today except no snow it's been like Lady A's just hope we don't get snow. Caught up on my shows now so it's back to stitchy time .
Kelly hope your doctors went to plan today too.

Sounds like everyone's busy with one thing or other. I hope all your aches and pains go quickly and you aren't in too much discomfort.
It's been snowing here all day today. It's forecast more of the same here for the next few days.
I haven't been in our local supermarket since last shop, Jay's been in for the things I need. You have to wear face coverings here, no mask no entry rule. Unless you can prove you're exempt for medical reasons, personally I don't need the hassle so the furthest I've been is the GP's office.
There's a debate about face masks on FB that was getting a little heated, but I think people should have more understanding for other people who are exempt for medical reasons. Not all illnesses or disabilities can be seen and in which case they should also respect the 2m rule. People seem to think that because you are wearing a mask the 2m rule doesn't apply, yet our supermarkets are packed with shoppers shoulder to shoulder at times.
Both me and Jade's blood results are back, although I had to have another test took today. It took the nurse 5 minutes to get blood from me and there was only a little bit in the vial. She said hopefully there's enough to test. I would have been there a lot longer otherwise.
Jade is now on the same meds as me, as it's her thyroid which I suspected. Either that are her iron count, but it was actually Vit D she hasn't enough of, so she's on supplements, but I'm going to pick her up some salmon and sardines tomorrow after I'm done at the opticians and some fresh orange juice. I know these are rich in Vit D so I'll research tonight what other foods contain it too, I think eggs do as well.
The doc as put me back on the same meds as before and he's adamant my condition isn't being caused by the meds, but I'll have to wait and see what the blood test shows. In the meantime, I'm to continue with them. I think it might be just the case of my body getting used to them as others have said as I'm not in as much pain today.
I took advantage of that and decided to clean out my craft room. Well, actually it's the utility room, lol, but I've organised the two large chests of storage drawers and they are now in the kitchen, for want of a better place. They will probably go upstairs once I've done the bedroom, which will be the weekend now and hopefully I'll find Flame in the process.
Hope you all have a good, crafty weekend, and stay warm and safe everyone.

I'VE FOUND HIM!!!
He wasn't in the bedroom though, he's somehow took a trip downstairs and into the lounge!
I was stitching, then turned my head to change the colour thread and there he was, right there on the arm of the sofa - watching me sew! He doesn't seem to have any injuries, he's still very small, but his legs looked okay (these spider can't handle a high drop, it will result in death) but he looks fine. He's now safely back in his terrarium with strict instructions to hubby not to go anywhere near him!
I'll let him settle back in tonight after his adventure and give him something to eat tomorrow.

That is good you found him Kelly. Sorry to hear about all the troubles with meds. One of the best ways to get Vit D is sunshine. Not necessarily easy in the middle of winter, but if there are any sunshiny days, make her sit by a window. I have also heard that eggs and mushrooms have vit D. Julie, a place like that here would be getting fines, if not outright shut down. I wouldn't go back either. The Madame La Fee pattern I ordered to do for my sister arrived today. Hopefully over the next couple of days I can get threads sorted out and get started. The sooner I start the sooner I can finish! It appears to be a well-printed and easy-to-read chart, although with it being multiple pages, I will need to make a working copy. I always find that when I get to the area where pages meet, I need to be able to tape them together in order to not make mistakes. I will also definitely need to be able to mark off as I go/where I am on some parts of the pattern, so need a working copy for that too. Not sure how I am going to do that however, as the place where I normally go to do it is of course closed due to restrictions.

Kelly, I am so glad you found him! Must have taken him lots of time and effort to climb up the arm of the sofa. Poor thing. Looks like he was missing you too. As for vitamin D, I am not sure it works if a person gets sunshine through the window glass. My Doctor always speaks about walks /sitting in the sun outside. I dont know how it is called in your country, but we call it fish oil (is supposed to be cod oil if I remember correctly). Right now I am taking capsules with it. As children we hated it as it was taken by tea spoons and smelled and tasted terribly. Brr. That oil is a powerful resource of vitamin D.
