Morning All,
Can't believe it's the last week on January already. It was only a month ago it was Christmas eve and we were all getting ready.
Well this week has started with Grey off sick as he not feeling great and he's agreed if still feeling bad tomorrow will get covid test as not sure he has but got about 6 symptoms and they had it at his work .I'll make him go as I want to know let alone work.
Spent weekend stitching another decoration for Christmas stitch along.Hoping to start Grimm Sal by end of the week then I'll have started something new .
How is everyone else doing?

Hope all goes well with Grey,Julie.
I am still stitching The Train of Dreams. Keep saying to myself ' Put it away and do some cards'. When I looked in my cross stitch card box I had a few so might be alright for awhile though of course there is Easter. I have 5 to do for that.
I really can't understand people saying they are bored. I have so many crafts 'twanging' away in my head. If all else fails there is always housework. Sorry for using a bad word
Happy Crafting everyone and stay safe

I know what you mean Maggie, though it's having the time as your finding you want to do one stitch but need to stitch something else.Ive been looking here at four different projects I'm stitching and a book I'm reading thinking choice choices...which one?
Though at least it stops us going out in the snow😃😃

Afternoon all,
I know what you mean too, there's plenty of choices here as well!
I hope Graham's test comes back negative Julie, maybe it's just a cold or he's feeling a bit run down with all the work.
I had a baking frenzy over the weekend, so there's Victorian cake, cupcakes, biscuits and jam tarts adorning the kitchen worktop if anyone wants to come over for tea and a natter. If you do, please be sure to bring a squeaky toy for Trixsey, it's the only way you'll shut her up long enough to get a word in yourself, lol.
Back to my stitching this afternoon, I'm working on the kitties this week and the Grimm SAL, as the first character is already out and I pick the mag up tomorrow hopefully. I'll also sort out another project for the Christmas Craft Along.
Hope you all have a fun Monday!

I hope everything went well with Grey.
As for being bored Maggie I know what you mean as I've so much to do. I have music to listen to, band practice over the internet, crafts to do, the dreaded housework, books to read, emails to write, phone calls to make, texts to send, lots of films to watch and series from abroad to watch oh the list goes on and on.
This year I'm refusing to dig out the Close as it snowed heavily. Every time it's snowed that's now 5 times in 17years I've always dug the snow off the road of our close and dug removed the snow and ice off both pavements so people can drive their cars on the road part and walk on the pavements. I think it's someone else's turn this year.
I didn't get the Dog food delivery yesterday due to the snow and ice the council hadn't gritted the main road into our estate and that hill is long and steep. Making it in passable if not gritted etc. The delivery man rung and said he'd try again to day. Mind you he has also to get out of Farnborough first and near the Railway station there's building work and whenever it rains hard or snows that part becomes in passable as one part ends up under water. So we'll see if Garretts tinned dog food arrives, he has plenty of dry dog food and has a few days left of his dental doggie sticks.

Julie - I would send Grey for a Covid test as it is the only way to be sure what you are dealing with. If it is going round work then they need to take extra precautions there as well. At the beginning of January there were 18 cases at our local sorting office so post was hit and miss until everyone recovered and was able to return to work. I am lucky down here in that we have not had any snow so life is as normal as it can be. I sent my niece a photo of the view from my kitchen window with a big palm tree and blue sky!! I have had the kitties out a couple of times this week now that my Christmas project is complete. It is coming along slowly but I can now see their little faces! Hope that you get your dog food delivery soon Aisles - can't have Garrett going hungry!

Glad it's nothing more serious Julie. Hope he feels better soon and you don't catch it either.
Haven't had chance to get any stitching done here, time has just got away from me today.
Hopefully I should get my new spiderling tomorrow, but will see how the weather goes as they won't transport if it's too cold. It's raining again here.
I didn't go into town, Jay went for me and picked up my mag, he had to pick up his prescription anyway.
I've got a Tesco order arriving tomorrow, so I don't have to tackle Asda for the big shop this week, I'll just need to pick up fresh fruit, veg and meats later in the week, as I like to pick these myself. Tesco comes in handy for the heavier things.
I'll stitch the new character for the Grimm SAL this evening, then I'll get back to the kitties. Made a fair bit of progress on them last night, and they're looking cute now they both have faces!
Looking forward to seeing your Christmas makes Julie.

How is the little escaper (correct word?) getting on? Was he hungry after his adventures?

So lovely! Had a ride home from work this evening, as a family member had to be out to that part of the city for other reasons. Very nice, as I was working at the branch farther away, which takes me over an hour on the bus. So nice to get home early! As a result, have had time to make a very nice dinner! Potatoes boiling on the stove, meat in the oven, frozen veg in the microwave, and pan of brownies waiting to go into the oven. Going to have a lovely supper of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli and then brownies & ice cream for dessert! Plenty of leftovers too. Endedup with enought meat to make two meatloaves, so will let the one meatloaf cool, and then pop it into the freezer. Hopefully I will round off my evening with some stitching. My SIL found these very cute baby blankets that she liked, and sent me a picture. I was able to find & buy the patterns, so ordered the yarn I needed to make them, and was going to surprise SIL. Not best pleased today to get an email from the shop to say that they were sold out of part of my order, so had issued a refund. But..... they didn't even say WHAT they were sold out of! They didn't even give me an option of changing my order or substituting something. Not to mention not having some of the yarn renders the rest of it rather useless, since once can hardly make up a pattern when one only has part of the materials. I have sent them a reply that I am NOT pleased, and that if they had done me the courtesy of informing me they were out of stock, I would have cancelled my order (and gone to the local shop once lockdown is over) instead of ending up with a bunch of useless yarn. Am going to research their return policy and see if I can return the order once it arrives.

I don't know where this week has gone.
There has been a lot of work going on in my street as all the gas pipes are being replaced. Well not exactly replaced. What they are doing is inserting a yellow tube into the existing pipe and then a narrow copper pipe into that which they then expand to the size of the existing pipe. Every house where they have been working has got a hole outside the house, some are larger and deeper than others. Of course it causes a bit of chaos as some people can't get on to their driveways. Our gas was turned off yesterday so they could do their work. Luckily it wasn't as cold as it has been. They will provide heaters if required.
Also, earlier this week my MIL had a hospital appointment and British Gas coming to fix a leaking pipe on the same day. She told us she had cancelled her appt but she then got a letter confirming the appt. So it was going to take 3 of us to cover this. I stayed at her house to wait for the gas man. He arrived just after the others had left. OH and DS went to the hospital. OH dropped DS and MIL as close to the hospital as he could as MIL has trouble walking whilst he went off to find somewhere to park. It turned out that MIL had cancelled her appt but they managed to fit her in. She is getting more forgetful and cannot cope with more than one thing happening.
Meanwhile the gas man told me that he had been off work for 3 weeks. Jokingly I asked if he had coronavirus and he had. Apparently one job he had been to the woman told him when he had finished that she had coronavirus. He was not happy. He took a test and it was positive. Before he went back to work he had taken another one and it was negative. If I thought anyone in this house had coronavirus we would lock ourselves away.
Have managed to do some stitching this week and catch up on some TV.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

It's funny you mention that Margaret as we were talking last night ,me and grey about the boiler being fitted a yr but if they had wanted to come here the last week we'd have said no as both had a cold (covid test ok) but I said I reckon people with out heat or water might tell people not got just to get it sorted.that would be cold or covid .
Grey says people still opening the doors and coming out to get mail even if could go through the door.Hes had to ask a couple of people to move while he gets in flats (for distancing)and they ask why ??.😞😞
